Workshop 1: "Intercultural Encounters"

The workshop aims to build and strengthen the sensitivity and competence to deal with international partners and to reflect one's own behavior and cultural background.
The course is designed to be highly interactive, with an e-learning part (prior to the workshop in Stuttgart), discussions, group work, lecturers, presentations, and a strategy game.

Workshop 2: "Library Services for Multicultural Communities"

The workshop discusses best practice how public libraries meet the needs of culturally diverse societies. It will cover topics such as: social inclusion, literacy programs, new migrant support, and diversity management.
The program includes a day trip to Strasbourg (France) with visits of library branches.

Workshop 3: "Cultural Marketing"

The workshop presents concepts and best practices for cultural marketing in public libraries. Participants develop checklists and discuss their experiences with marketing experts.
The program includes guided tours of cultural institutions in the Stuttgart region.

Workshop 5: "Strategic Management for Electronic Publishing"

This workshop will look at the current trends in the scientific, technical, and medical publishing (STM) industry. Particularly emphasis will be given to understanding the changes that are occurring in the dissemination of scholarly information.
This course is intended to be highly interactive, including discussions as well as the analysis of several industry study cases in small groups.
