This years' symposium will be a unique celebration of intercultural exchange and international relations starting with the Symposium participation in the Berlin Carnival of Cultures, then continuing with an exclusive concert by Boney M lead singer, Marcia Barrett, and including an opportunity to meet with a very special group of distinguished speakers, including former Heads of State, experts and practitioners in the field of culture, globalization and international relations as well as to many prominent members of the international ICD Advisory Board.

3 Mar 2009A review of Migrants and Markets: Perspectives from Economics and the Other Social Sciences
The book presents a series of case studies that analyse the relationship between economics and the other social sciences. Emerging from a conference in 2006, some essays look at migration in terms of concepts such as trade and club theory, others analyse migratory patterns and the factors affecting migrant choices. The papers draw on a variety of research methods in order to consider the positive and negative outcomes of migration, and thereby provide a new perspective on issues that are often clouded with contention.
