In 2003 MKC Prague the final report from the research project "How hard is it to make out foreigners: How foreigners are (not) written about" was released. One of the conclusions was that citizens and minorities in the Czech Republic tend only to be commented on only by public sector representatives, and rarely by the minority's associations or by the minorities themselves. These findings more or less answer the question in the title in the report; foreign citizen organizations and the individual citizens have a problem with how their topics, aims and missions are interpreted by the media. We are quick to criticise journalists for a perceived lack of interest in, or superficial knowledge of, important problems. However a large part of the problem may often lie in the absence of journalistic awareness of organizations which represent minorities.

In this address book, that we have published to help and direct journalists and the non-profit sector, we aim to provide a practical, useful and up to date list of organizations representing ethnic groups, national minorities, citizens, refugees and those who are interested in the development of a multicultural society in the Czech Republic.
